Bandaloo

Privacy Policy

Effective 19 August 2026  ·  Applies to Bandaloo for iOS

Bandaloo is a music-making app for children. It is built so that there is nothing to collect.

The short version

Bandaloo does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Ever. From anyone — child or grown-up.

There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of ours. Everything your child does — playing, recording, saving, sending a song — works entirely offline.

The one exception is buying: if you choose to make the optional purchase, iOS talks to Apple's App Store to complete it, the same way it does for any app. No server of ours is involved, and nothing about you or your child is sent anywhere.

What the app does not do

Where your child's songs live

Songs, tracks, and the in-progress draft are saved as ordinary files inside the app's own folder on your device. App settings are stored locally on the device as well.

Sharing a song

Sending a song creates an audio file and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet — reachable only from the grown-ups area behind a parental gate. From there, the file goes to whichever app or service you choose (Messages, Mail, Files, and so on). Bandaloo does not upload anything anywhere, and once a file is handed to another app, that app's own privacy policy applies to it.

Children's privacy

Bandaloo is intended for children and is listed in the Kids Category of the App Store. Because the app collects no personal information whatsoever, there is nothing to disclose, share, or sell — including under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, including Article 8 on children's consent), and comparable laws elsewhere. No parental consent mechanism is required because no personal information is ever collected.

Purchases, settings, and any links out of the app are placed behind a parental gate that requires typing the answer to a math question.

Purchases

Bandaloo offers a single optional one-time purchase that unlocks the remaining instruments. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, no consumable purchases, and no currency of any kind.

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see, receive, or store your payment details, your Apple Account, or any identifier belonging to you — Apple provides us only with anonymous, aggregated sales reports. The app remembers whether the purchase was made by asking Apple, not by storing anything about you.

Buying and restoring a purchase are available only in the grown-ups area, behind a parental gate. The purchase supports Family Sharing, so one payment covers the children in your family group.

Everything your child records — playing, recording, layering tracks, saving songs, and sending them to family — works fully without any purchase.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above, and describe the change in the app's release notes.
